The ten-megapixel Fujifilm Finepix Z200fd is clearly aimed at those with design in mind, a new article has suggested.
In a piece for the New York Times, John Biggs compares the camera to the Birkin bags and oversized sunglasses to be seen on modern “fashionistas” looking to take snaps at “parties and runway shows”.
He adds that for this reason, the Fujifilm Finepix Z200fd has been equipped with a list of shooting modes that include Beach, Museum and Party, “ensuring it can manage the full gamut of fashion shoot locations”.
Mr Biggs goes on to highlight the camera’s blog mode, specially designed for use with online social networking and an Auction mode “for selling unwanted items online”.
Face detection capable of recognising up to ten people in any one shot is included in the device and supports for both xD and SD card means that the Fujifilm Finepix Z200fd is versatile.
The Fujifilm Finepix Z200fd is available in red, silver, black and pink.

There are a number of things thrill-seekers should bear in mind when shopping for digital cameras, according to one expert.
In an article published on the Lindsay Post website, Michelle Finch states that outdoor adventurers need to consider what the camera will be used for and the conditions it will have to endure.
Whether a camera can deal with being bounced around on horseback or handle extreme conditions such as ice cold snow, intense heat or raging rapids, can be an important part of some people’s buying decision.
She states that one model, the Olympus Stylus 1030 SW, claims to be just the right model, as the manufacturer claims it is “shockproof, waterproof, freeze-proof and, possibly most enticingly, shake-proof”.
The camera is a 10.1-megapixel model that weighs 200 grams and can be taken to an underwater depth of up to ten metres.
Olympus’ Stylus 1030 SW is available in silver of black and has a 3.6x wide optical zoom, face detection, BrightCapture technology and 24 scene modes.

A new low-budget digital camera from Samsung has been pitted against some of its closest rivals.
In a piece for the Trusted Reviews website, the Samsung L210 is noted as a compact model that is the smallest around and comes equipped with image stabilisation.
The review goes on to state that in addition to this, the camera is the cheapest around that offers the feature and this could make it worthy of consideration for some.
“The Samsung L210 is an ambitious camera, a budget ultra-compact with optical image stabilisation, a technology usually only found in more expensive cameras,” the site states.
However, models such as the Nikon S600, the Casio EX-Z200, the Panasonic FX35 and the Canon IXUS 80 IS it adds that budget may be a bigger factor for most people’s buying decision.

The colourful Nikon Coolpix S210 has been praised in a new review for its point-and-shoot features.
ABC News reports that the camera, which is available in plum, blue, bronze and graphite is a highly pocketable model that will be particularly suited to the needs of the web generation.
The article notes that it looks fashionable and although perhaps not suited to the “serious photographer”, social networking fans are unlikely to care.
“This is a snapshot camera,” it adds, “the kind you’re quite likely to hold up at arm’s length so you can take a picture of yourself and friends to post on your Facebook page.”
It adds that a low price also means that this eight-megapixel camera, which features 3x optical zoom, could be perfect for such consumers on a budget.
Nikon’s Coolpix S210 can be picked up in a range of colours for under £100 on the UK Digital Cameras website.
