The Canon Digital Ixus 860 IS has been given a rating of eight out of ten in a recent Cnet review.
The camera was praised for its “impressive performance, while image quality, optical image stabilisation and face detection software were also applauded.
And despite the fact that the Canon Ixus 860 IS does not have an optical viewfinder or manual exposure controls, the reviewer claimed it “captures beautiful images” and is among the top cameras released this year.
Cameras.co.uk echoed this sentiment, stating that the eight-megapixel camera’s wide-angle lens is an attractive feature and that its “stylish” metal body is also a nice selling point.
The Canon Ixus 860 IS is compatible with SD and SDHC memory cards and can take up to 240 shots between charges of its lithium ion batteries.
It weighs 155 grams and also features an LCD screen and comes with a 32mb SD card capable of storing around 14 photos.
