Canon Powershot D10 – waterproof to 10m!
17 Apr 2009
Canon havejust released the Canon Poweshot D10. Clearly inspired by the success of the Olympus MJU SW waterproof series of cameras, the Canon D10 is waterproof to 10m, drop-proof (apparently you can drop it from 1.22m – I’m not quite sure how they managed to work out such an exact height!), cold-proof (which means it can withstand temperatures of -10 degrees C, rather than it’s not going to catch a cold), and it’s also dust proof for good measure.
This means you can take the Canon D10 snorkelling, then drop it on the floor on your way to going skiing where the D10 will cope well with the cold temperatures before you end the day taking snaps on the beach without having to worry about sand getting into your shiny new camera.
When we first saw the photos of the Canon D10 we thought it looked a bit toy like but now we’ve actually played with one – when you get it in your hands it does feel really solid and is smaller than the pictures suggets. At the time of writing we have the Canon Powershot D10 in stock for £299.99 (£80 off the RRP) and if you buy it with one of our 4GB, 8GB or 16GB packages we include a free 3 year warranty, a free mini tripod and a free camera cleaning kit.
