Canon unveils £35 photo printer
28 Jan 2008
Canon has launched a photo printer for the price of £35, with the value-for-money device offering users photo-lab quality prints.
The PIXMA iP2600 prints photographs of resolutions up to 4800×1200dpi, with 10×15cm borderless photos printed in less than 55 seconds in its standard mode.
For those wanting a multi-purpose device, the printer also produces monocolour documents at up to 22 pages per minute and colour at 17 pages per minute.
Consumables for the printer are Advanced FINE cartridges that offer precision printing and are easily replaceable with one-click installation.
Dpreview.com reports that the printer replaces the ip1800 and ip2500 as the entry-level end of the product range at Canon.
Pocket-lint reports that the printer has been restyled for 2008 and now boasts a lower profile and output tray, while it ships to customers with a copy of the Easy-PhotoPrint EX software and should be available from March 2008.
