The latest ten-megapixel model from Nikon is stylish, pocketable and “works a treat”, according to a new review.

Pocket-lint reports that the Nikon S600 is a simple-to-use point and shoot model that the manufacturer claims comes with the “fastest start-up time for any camera in its class”.

With a 2.7-inch screen “that’s excellent to use in almost any lighting”, 4x optical zoom lens, VR anti-shake system and four main shooting modes it is also noted that the camera is versatile.

It is concluded that the Nikon Coolpix S600 has a “lightening fast start-up and an average overall performance that make it “a bit of a mixed bag”. However, the review concludes “the decent design and build and good image quality might just sway it for you”.

Other compact digital cameras in the Nikon range include the 8.1-megapixel Nikon Coolpix L18, which is available in black, silver, red and blue.
