Nikon DSLR ’rounds out a bumper year’
02 Jul 2008

Nikon’s latest digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) model follows what has so far been a “bumper year” for the manufacturer.
According to Pocket-lint, Nikon has launched a number of models recently that have covered a number of levels of expertise, adding that its latest is a DSLR aimed straight at the middle-market consumer.
Following the launch of the professional D3 and slightly more amateur-focussed D300, the article notes that the Nikon D700 may only be for those looking to spend at the top level.
It is estimated that the Nikon D700 offers a number of innovative features including an integrated dust reduction system and compact FX but is expected to cost around £2,000 when it goes on sale later this month.
For those looking at the DSLR market but looking to spend a little less, the Nikon D40X could be an option.
The camera has a 10.2 effective megapixel count and is equipped with Nikon’s DX format CCD image sensor.
