Further details regarding Panasonic’s latest digital SLR camera have emerged after journalists were invited to have a sneak preview at the Tower of London.

Technology writers from across the country headed down to the capital’s famous landmark where they were invited to give the attractive DMC-L10 a closer inspection. And it seems that even in the flesh, the DMC-L10 failed to disappoint, with journalists hailing its sleek look and variety of features. Hitting the electronics shop shelves at the start of November, the £899 camera looks to be a Christmas present cert – with amateur photographers likely to be queuing round the block to get it in their stocking.

Features which are expected to pull in the crowds include the new autofocus application on the LCD screen and hi-tech anti-blur technologies. :”We’ve made unique functions such as intelligent ISO, optical image stabilisation and 28mm lenses standard across our entire range of compact and digital SLR cameras and that’s what sets us apart from other manufacturers,” said Mark Robinson, product manager of the Lumix range at Panasonic. Panasonic’s success is set to be further boosted after a survey released today revealed that digital cameras were the second most popular gadget after mobile phones. Media agency Universal McCann claimed that 81 per cent of the 10,000 European people asked owned a digital camera.
