Recommended cameras with ’superzoom’ technology

A camera with a high performance zoom lens can be a good alternative to a more expensive digital SLR model, according to one expert.
In an article for PC Magazine, Molly McLaughlin notes that of the wide selection of models that boast ’superzoom’ lens technology models from Olympus, Panasonic and Fujifilm are among the best.
Ms McLaughlin notes that the ten-megapixel
Olympus SP-570UZ tops some of its peers with a 20x optical zoom lens, but adds that perhaps the most innovative feature on the camera is its Perfect Shot Preview.
“If you want to see how various colour effects will change your photo, the LCD will serve up four separate previews, so you can choose which white balance setting looks best,” she notes.
Also recommended is the Fuji FinePix s8100fd which is praised for its 18x zoom lens and reasonable pricing, as well as the magazines own Editors’ Choice, the
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18.
It is noted that in addition to a 28mm wide-angle lens, the camera offers a range of features and a high-angle LCD screen for an improved viewing angle.
All of the above models are available online from UK Digital Cameras.
