New models have been launched as part of Samsung’s 2008 second-half digital camera range.

The four cameras are called the Samsung TL34HD, Samsung SL310W, Samsung TL9 and Samsung SL201.

According to the company, the digital cameras will deliver new technologies to the market.

Samsung TL34HD has a 14.7-megapixel resolution and is Samsung’s most advanced point-and-shoot camera. It has a three-inch display screen which supports the touch screen software included in the camera.

With a 2.7-inch LCD screen, the Samsung TL9 is ultra-compact and contains MP3 to make it a multimedia product.

Including in this camera is face detection technology which “detects up to nine faces and automatically adjusts focus and exposure to ensure better composition and image quality”. In addition, Smile Shot ensures the camera only takes a photo when it detects smiles.

The Samsung SL201 has a self portrait function which only allows the camera to take a picture if it detects the person is positioned in the middle of the frame.

In other news, Samsung announced this week it was to provide the first seven-year long warranty for a hard disk drive.
