The Sigma DP1 and the VF-11 View Finder Kit are set to be released in the UK next month, Photography Blog reported.
According to a Sigma UK press release, the kit, which comprises the new Sigma DP1 compact camera and a VF-11 view finder, will be available in the UK from April at a recommended retail price of £599.99.
The Sigma DP1 is also available without the view finder option for a price of £549.99.
It is thought the DP1 is the only digital compact camera available that uses an APS-C-size image sensor, the blog claimed.
Sigma states the camera is “aimed squarely at the heart of photographic art” and adds that it may spark “the creative urge”.
It comes complete with six feature technologies, including a full-scale sensor, an integral lens and imaging capability.
The Sigma DP1 features an electronically-controlled lens shutter, eight white balance settings, a 2.5-inch LCD colour monitor and a number of language options, including English, Japanese, German, French, Italian and Korean.
