Snappers to document ‘home’ for new competition

Keen photographers should make sure they have their digital cameras handy next week as a new photographic event is launched to
record what the concept of ‘home’ means to people in the UK.
Ukathome.co.uk is asking people to take photos of their home life between September 24th and 30th which will then be used to create a website, book and exhibition documenting life in the UK.
On the site, organisers wrote: “The goal of the project is to capture the extraordinary diversity that makes up daily family life, representing a broad range of economic, geographic, racial, political, and socially diverse lifestyles. “Those taking part can either opt to take ‘photo assignments’ giving them directions on what to photograph or simply capture any image of “what makes your home special”. The organisers have previously run similar events, with thousands of digital camera users in the US recording what it was like to be an American, with the book containing the images hitting the bestseller list after talk show queen Oprah Winfrey praised it.
