The sleek, compact design of the Sony DSC-T200 has won praise in two new reviews.

Available in either silver, matte black or deep red, Sony describes the camera as having “slim vertical styling”, with the various functions controlled via a 3.5 inch touch-screen located on the back and few buttons disrupting the smooth lines of the device.

Margaret Brown, a writer for Australian website Photo Review, described the DSC-T200 as “attractive” and highlighted the lens cover as a valuable feature, saying it is “solidly-built and moves smoothly, providing good protection for the lens, flash and microphone when it is closed”.

Ralph Averbuch, a reviewer from Irish technology website ENN, said that the choice to incorporate a rechargeable lithium battery into the camera meant it “should give many, many hours of use between charges”.

“As this battery is mobile phone thin, it allows the profile of the camera to remain svelte and light at 160g.”

He concluded: “This is a beautifully constructed gadget that feels great to use and has a difficult-to-define quality that’s sure to help its sales.”
