Sony’s latest H-range camera, the H50, has a higher megapixel count and a lower price than its predecessor, the Sony H9, a reviewer has claimed.

According to Register Hardware, the camera has a new bracket shooting mode, in which users will be able to capture up to three images at the same time with different white balance, exposure and colour mode settings.

The camera also features a tilting three-inch LCD screen, which the reviewer suggested may be useful for getting a better view in bright sunlight or when shooting from unusual angles.

Although a UK price has not yet been announced for the camera, the reviewer anticipates a price drop of around £40 when compared to the Sony H9 model. The camera is expected to ship in April 2008.

Sony reports that the 9.1-megapixel camera can offer clear enlargements up to A3 size and features an “extremely high-power” 15x optical zoom lens.
