A new article has advised on the basics of buying a new digital camera, it has emerged.
According to Cnet, there area number of things to consider when shopping for a new point-and-shoot model and adds that there are eight main specifications that should be kept in mind.
It states that a lens “that can handle the broadest range of scenes” is essential and recommends picking a unit with an optical zoom range able to cover wide-angle landscapes and closer telephoto images.
Seven-megapixel or higher is also advised and the site states that storage can also be an important thing to consider.
“Most cameras don’t come with enough storage for practical uses, so budget for an additional memory card,” the article notes.
It is also noted that a camera which has the ability to deal with a range of formats can also be useful and features such as colour control, exposure control and extra shooting modes are also worthwhile.
Finally power and performance are noted, the site concludes that lithium-ion cell batteries are best and a camera should also be useable.
