Under the Blue deadline looms

Those who wish to enter the Underwatercompetition. com Photo and Video competition need to submit their entries sharpish with the deadline right around the corner.
May 12th will mark the deadline for entries for photographers wishing to get their hands on the $20,000 (£10,000) prize money from touting their best underwater snaps.
The competition is run by both Wetpixel and DivePhotoGuide and the competition is open for professionals and amateurs alike who wish to show off their favourite digital camera snap that best encapsulates the theme Under the Blue.
Winners of this year’s competition will get to show their photographs at the 2007 Scuba Show in Long Beach, California between June 2nd and 3rd.
There are five categories – Majesty of the Oceans, The Macro World, Man and the Sea, California Underwater and Video – so if your digital camera skills are up to it then this could be the perfect platform from which to display memorable photographs.
Of the total entry proceeds amassed through the competition, 15 per cent will be handed to marine conservation funds.
